Rationalization

We were taught what to teach, and ideas behind to teach. But we were never made to experience teaching.

And before long, most of us, who were sent out to the front lines were all breaking down apart, and seeking help. We thought we had the solution.

We actually did, but the solution that we had was only useful on the times we were learning, (had we taught back then).

Experience has taught me, that I should start rationalizing what was taught.

I ought to start, and I shall.

I want my kids to be educated, not to be taught.

Its not about A, B, C, D or E. It is about intellectual-interdependence. I don’t want them to be reliant, but I don’t want them to be selfish too. I want them to be people who knows how to do it, with the ability of sharing the know-hows. Some kids learn fast, some kids learn slow. I just want them to be able to learn on their own.

Skills isn’t taught. Skills are procured. Through sharpening of one own’s saw.

Its flooding back into me.

Rise again, soldier. To the front lines. Once more. A wound to the bums on that soldier and he went back for more. I’m going to do exactly the same. I’ve got my marching orders.

Square up your shoulders and get ready to rock ‘n roll, teachers!

Unit Portfolio Contest 2008

Word has it that Radzuwan Abd Rashid (he called me) to say that he has bested all the other 20++ groups in our class to win it (he didn’t win the grand prize, unfortunately).

Congratulations to Radzuwan Abd Rashid & Jayanthi Jayaraman.

“The Dead Crow Project Initiative” will still go on, business as usual. We didn’t just do it for the sake of hoping to win something. If it works, the results will prove itself.

Thinking processes and background upbringing.

Today I read somewhere, if I’m going to start changing how I think about myself, I could adopt a few methods to “brand” myself.

One of the ways was to list down 5 good things about myself (or done to myself by myself), daily. Sounds easy, but it may be not. But that’s a start. But that’s not what it is about.

Young Baha’is denied Tertiary Education Access in Iran (part 2)

So here’s part 2, and here’s what I have to say. I may take flak from any sides, but here are some of the pointers that I need to highlight out:

Young Baha’is denied Tertiary Education Access in Iran (part 1)

NEW YORK, 3 October 2008 (BWNS) — As the new academic year got under way, young Baha’is in Iran again found the door to higher education closed. Although in its public stance the Iranian government maintains that Baha’is are free to attend university, reports over the past few weeks indicate that the policy of preventing Baha’is from obtaining higher education remains in effect.
